Replacement Brake Coils

This work should only be carried out by our Engineers or a suitably competent person trained in this type of work.

Essentials

1) The root cause of the failure should be identified & rectified before attempting to replace a brake coil.

2) Ensure the brake coil is the correct voltage & frequency

3) Ensure the brake coil is correctly installed and the brake is adjusted/set up correctly.

Types

Type 1 Solder terminals, use low temperatures solder to make the connection.

Type 2 Tails route and join by suitable means.

Type 3 Push on Terminals (Ensure Tight)

Type 4 Screw terminals (Ensure Tight)

Checks

1) Correct Voltage & Frequency

2) Insulation

3) Mechanical for damage

4) Brake unit correctly adjusted (Armature Gap)

5) Brake able to function correctly
